MEDICAL DOCTOR

Since receiving her medical degree from the University of Sydney in 1995, Helena has been paving the way for a new paradigm in peak health and peak performance.

A specialist in lifestyle-based diseases (which account for over 80% of all cases presenting to GPs in Australia), Helena shows both men and women how to achieve excellence in every area of their life – through education not medication.  Her work has taken her across the globe from Australia, New Zealand and North America to Germany, Japan and India.

Helena is also the founder of Mission SlimPossible: Licence to Lose – a weight loss program which teaches the skills of successful slimming for life.

Oh, and did I mention she was also a vasectomist?

RESEARCHER

Helena has done extensive research on the brain, mind and motivation.  She is one of Australia’s leading experts on neuroplasticity (how we can change our own brain) and mind mastery (how we can master our life by mastering our mind).

Helena has a talent for bringing science to life.  She applies the latest research to daily life, health and business and shows how we can achieve extraordinary results.

SPEAKER

Helena received her first speaking award at the age of 16 years when she won the City of Sydney Eisteddfod Singles Debating Championship.  Her leadership skills were further recognised in 1984 when she was elected School Captain of Meriden School, and again in 1985 when she was chosen to spend a year in Japan as a Rotary Exchange Student.

Throughout her years in medical practice she lectured students, nurses and fellow doctors.  She now delivers keynotes, seminars and workshops to people in all professions and all walks of life.  She is vibrant, invigorating and highly entertaining.

It is Helena’s unique combination of scientific rigor, commonsense practicality and playful personality that make her a captivating, inspiring and unforgettable speaker.

There are many speakers who make an audience feel great.  There are other speakers who produce measurable results.  With Helena you get both: people feeling fabulous and an increase in the bottom line.

FITNESS TRAINER

During her university years, Helena became a tennis coach, a group fitness trainer and an aqua aerobics instructor.  She has taught at fitness centres throughout Australia and overseas, including New Zealand, Germany, India and the former Yugoslavia.  She is also a registered Les Mills instructor in Pump, RPM, Body Step and Body Attack.

LIFELINE COUNSELLOR

While working in women’s health clinics in Auckland, New Zealand, Helena spent 12 months doing volunteer telephone counselling for Lifeline.

Here she discovered that when we listen to another human being with our full attention and acceptance, we connect on the deepest level and we become a vehicle for healing.

ADVENTURER

For Helena, life is synonymous with adventure.  The context in which she chooses to live is that life is a great adventure.

Adventure feeds the spirit, strengthens the mind, boosts the brain and energises the body.

Some of her adventures include climbing Mt Kinabalu in Malaysian Borneo, walking the Great Wall of China to raise money for the Clown Doctors, living with hill tribes in Thailand, getting mugged in Johannesburg, riding on a camel in the Pushkar desert, working in a diabetes clinic in Bombay, crossing the road in Ho Chi Minh City, bungy jumping over the Zambezi River, trekking across the French Pyrenees, parasailing in Mission Beach and assembling an Ikea bookshelf.

The driving force behind everything she does is to make a positive difference – and leave the smallest possible carbon footprint and have the best fun in the process.
